IMPORTANT VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR THE NOVEMBER 2024 GENERAL ELECTION
Titus County, Texas- The Titus County Elections Office is reminding all residents that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming November 2024 general election is fast approaching. The last day to register is Monday, October 7, 2024.
"We encourage all eligible residents to check their registrations before the deadline, " said Michelle Whorton, Elections Administrator. "Planning now will help make casting your ballot easy and efficient."
To register, residents can visit the Titus County Elections Office at 110 S. Madison Ave, Ste C Mt. Pleasant, TX 75455 or go online to the Texas Secretary of State's website at www.votetexas.gov for more information and to download a voter registration form. Completed forms must be postmarked by October, 6 2024.
To avoid issues on Election Day, make sure to update your voter registration information if you have recently moved or changed names.

LAST DAY TO APPLY FOR A VOTE BY MAIL BALLOT FOR THE NOVEMBER 2024 GENERAL ELECTION
Titus County, Texas- The Titus County Elections Office is reminding all eligible voters that the deadline to apply for vote-by-mail ballot for the upcoming November 2024 general election is quickly approaching. Applications must be received by Friday, October 25, 2024.
"We want to ensure that every voter who is eligible to vote by mail has the information to do so," said Michelle Whorton, Elections Administrator. "It is important to meet the application deadline in order to receive your ballot in a timely manner."
You are eligible to vote by mail if you are:
- 65 years of age or older on Election Day
- Sick or disabled
- Expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after the Election Day
- Absent from the county of registration during the Early Voting period and Election Day
- Civilly committed under Chapter 841 of the Texas Health and Safety Code
- Confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.
Applications for a vote by mail ballot can be obtained from the Titus County Elections Office at 110 S. Madison Ave, Ste C Mt. Pleasant, TX 75455 or online from the Secretary of State's website at www.votetexas.gov. Completed applications must be received by the Titus County Elections Office no later than October 25, 2024.

ELECTION DAY REMINDER FOR THE NOVEMBER 2024 GENERAL ELECTION
Titus County, Texas- The Titus County Elections Office wants to remind all registered voters of information they need before heading to the polls for the November 2024 general election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. Voters can find their polling place by using https://teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/MVP/mvp.do. Voters must go their designated precinct location.
Voters must physically present one of the seven acceptable forms of photo ID.
- Texas Drivers License
- Texas Personal Identification Card
- Texas Election Identification Certificate
- Texas Handgun License
- United States Military Identification Card
- United States Citizenship Certificate
- United States Passport
Voters who do not have an acceptable photo ID and cannot reasonably obtain one can fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and present an alternate for of identification, such as a utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or voter registration certificate.
Prohibited items with 100 feet of a voting station:
- Cell phones, tablets, cameras, or any other wireless communication or recording device
- NO Electioneering, which means: NO Campaign, Candidate, or Party Literature
- NO Wearing/Displaying Campaign, Candidate, or Party Buttons, Hats, Shirts, Signs, Flags, etc.
- Section 46.03(a) of the Texas Penal Code generally prohibits a person from bringing a firearm onto the premises of a polling place. This prohibition does not apply to a peace officer, regardless of whether the police officer is on or off duty. For this and other potentially applicable exceptions, see Tex. Pen. Code § 46.15. The legislation allowing open carry of handguns does NOT change the law as it pertains to guns in the polling place; thus no one except licensed peace officers may carry handguns into the polling place.
Election night results will be available through visiting Titus County Elections Facebook Page. Titus County is working to have a new website prior to the election, and will also post election night result there, if possible.
